THE VILLAGE The is situated in the village of Arncroach 1.5 miles inland from the coastal villages / towns of Anstruther, St. Monans and Elie.. The village is a small historic conservation village, retaining its old world charm and boasts a lovely park (which includes a children's play area) and the nearby Kellie Castle. There is a small combined post office / shop and a pub a 15 minute walk away. In the coastal villages there are numerous pubs, hotels and restaurants serving the local specialty of fresh seafood. Anstruther and the other villages boast many other visitor attractions, such as water sports facilities and golf courses. |
THE EAST NEUK OF FIFE The East Neuk (old Scots word for corner) is the name given to the wedge of land running around the eastern peninsula of Fife, it is an area packed with charming fishing villages, challenging golf courses, local crafts and produce, ancient folklore, history and wonderful sandy beaches. Its villages typically comprise of many whitewashed buildings with red tiled roofs overlooking cobbled, winding streets leading to secluded little fishing harbours. The East Neuk has some of the finest beaches and water sports facilities in the 'Kingdom' and some of the best seafood restaurants in Scotland. Its main villages are Anstruther, Crail, Elie, St. Monans and Pittenweem. |
